North Face mural
In partnership with North Face and Origin Outside I created this Mural for the renovation of the local North Face store in Banff. The main image is a large mural which spans the width of the 14ft changing rooms. The longer images are the insides of the doors which correspond with where they are on the map; Canoeing at Moraine Lake, Snowboarding at Norquay and Climbing on the rear side of Sacred Buffalo Guardian Mountain.
This project was to show the many various activities and adventures which happen within the Bow Valley and the greater Banff Area. This valley is a sacred gathering place and has been used as a place of healing, discovery and celebration for hundreds of years by many different Indigenous Nations before it was coined ‘Banff’ in 1883.
A special thank you goes out to my friend Daryl Kootenay, Tatunga Wagichi, who honoured this piece by sharing the story of this land and its importance to his Nation, Îyârhe Nakoda - also known as Stoney Nakoda. Thank you for your guidance, patience and kindness.
